Hi, I’m Chef Mandy Wingert
I’m a graduate of the Culinary Institute of Canada in Charlottetown, PEI with Diplomas in both Culinary and Pastry Arts and have Red Seal Certifications in both disciplines.
I also have the Adult Education Teaching Certification from Dalhousie University and have taught cooking classes in PEI and Nova Scotia since 2006.
While attending the Culinary Institute of Canada I was Team Captain of Culinary Youth Team Canada and competed in International cooking competitions in Wales, Scotland, and Michigan, culminating in the Culinary Olympics in Germany.
I have worked in up-scale establishments including New York State, PEI, Wales, England, Saskatchewan and Halifax. I have also had the opportunity to represent Canada cooking in the VIP Lounge of the Canada Pavilion at the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai, China.
My style of cooking is “Bringing Back the Comforts of Home”. I hope to spark a memory with each dish that I prepare. I like my classes to be informal and feel like a gathering of friends. We always have good conversations, lots of laughs and good food while learning.
